Uncle White’s Bread Machine Rolls

Description

My family says I am famous for my rolls. I hope you like them too.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • stick butter

Instructions

  1. Place the bread flour
  2. buttermilk
  3. brown sugar
  4. salt
  5. yeast
  6. and egg yolk into a bread machine. Using the Dough setting
  7. allow the machine to mix the ingredients until moist. Pause the cycle and pour in the oil
  8. then let the machine continue to the end of the Dough cycle.
  9. Grease muffin pans or a baking sheet
  10. and set aside.
  11. Punch down the dough
  12. and remove it from the machine. Divide the dough into 12 equal parts
  13. form into round
  14. smooth rolls
  15. and place them into the cups of the muffin pans or on baking sheet
  16. making sure the rolls don’t touch each other. Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel
  17. and let rise in a warm place until double
  18. about 25 minutes.
  19. While the rolls are rising
  20. preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20 minutes
  21. or until golden brown. Rub the tops of the hot rolls with a stick of butter for a soft crust
  22. cool the rolls slightly
  23. and serve warm.

Total Time: 2 hrs 35 mins
