Twice Fried Fish

Description

Slightly spicy and aromatic, this fried fish is always my husband’s favorite choice!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon canned tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dry sherry
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ pounds cod fillets
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon lard
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 4 tablespoons water
