That’s-a Meatloaf

Description

Interesting, elegant twist on the same old meatloaf. Good enough for company, easy enough for everyday.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • ¾ cup fresh crumbled bread
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 6 slices ham
  • 6 medium slices mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl
  3. combine the beef
  4. eggs
  5. tomato sauce
  6. bread crumbs
  7. cheese
  8. garlic
  9. parsley and oregano. Mix well and form into an 8×10 inch rectangle.
  10. Place the ham over the rectangle mixture
  11. and then the cheese over the ham. Roll up jelly-roll style so that you end up with a rolled loaf about 5×8 inches.
  12. Place roll seam side down into a 5×9 inch loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 75 minutes. Drain excess fat.
