Tami’s Red Sauce: Bolognese Tomato Sauce with Ground Beef

Description

This red sauce is a crowd pleaser, takes next to no effort, and can be made with fresh or dried herbs that you probably already have in your pantry!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 (29 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons dried basil
  • 3 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 3 tablespoons onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned completely
  2. 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease.
  3. Stir tomato sauce
  4. basil
  5. oregano
  6. onion powder
  7. garlic powder
  8. sugar
  9. salt
  10. and pepper into the beef; bring to a boil
  11. reduce heat to low
  12. and cook sauce at a simmer
  13. stirring occasionally
  14. until thick and rich
  15. about 1 hour.
