Sweet Polish Sausage

Description

This is an excellent way to prepare Polish sausage with no hint of greasiness to it!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds kielbasa sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • ⅓ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 dashes hot pepper sauce
  • ⅔ cup water

Instructions

  1. Place sausage in a large saucepan. Add water to cover and simmer over low heat for 1 hour. Drain
  2. remove sausage and set aside.
  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  4. In the same saucepan combine the Worcestershire sauce
  5. lemon juice
  6. onion
  7. sugar
  8. hot pepper sauce and water. Bring all to a boil
  9. stirring. Place reserved sausage in a 9×13-inch baking dish and cover it with the sauce mixture.
  10. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour.
