Swedish Turkey Meatballs

Description

I’ve tried a few different Swedish Meatballs recipes and also the sauce packets they sell at the stores but I’ve never been happy with the results. One night I really wanted to make Swedish Meatballs, and after looking on multiple websites for recipes, I finally gave up and made up my own. It turned out delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds ground turkey
  • ¾ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (Optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix ground turkey
  2. bread crumbs
  3. egg
  4. Parmesan cheese
  5. garlic
  6. and Italian seasoning by hand in a large bowl. Form mixture into 1 1/2-inch meatballs.
  7. Place beef broth in a microwave-safe container and microwave on high until hot
  8. about 2 minutes. Whisk flour into beef broth until smooth.
  9. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs
  10. in batches if necessary
  11. and cook until browned on all sides
  12. about 2 minutes per side. Reduce heat to low. Pour in beef broth slowly over meatballs. Stir in heavy cream
  13. Worcestershire sauce
  14. and black pepper. Cook
  15. stirring occasionally
  16. until meatballs are cooked through
  17. about 10 minutes.
  18. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook egg noodles
  19. stirring occasionally
  20. until tender yet firm to the bite
  21. 8 to 10 minutes; drain. Serve meatballs and sauce over noodles.
