Steamed Tuna Fish

Description

Tender steamed tuna with a ginger, sherry, garlic and soy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh tuna steaks
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup sherry
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 bunch green onions, finely chopped
  • ½ cup minced fresh ginger root
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place tuna steaks in a steamer over 1 inch of boiling water
  2. and cover. Cook 6 to 8 minutes
  3. or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
  4. Meanwhile
  5. in a medium saucepan
  6. combine soy sauce
  7. sherry
  8. vegetable oil
  9. green onions
  10. ginger
  11. garlic
  12. salt
  13. and black pepper. Bring to a boil.
  14. Remove tuna steaks from steamer
  15. and place in a serving dish. Pour sauce over tuna steaks
  16. and serve immediately.
