Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Description

This is a soup I have come up with myself that everyone in my house will eat.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried split peas
  • 10 cups water
  • 1 pound smoked sausage of your choice, sliced
  • 5 cubes chicken bouillon
  • 1 ½ cups chopped carrot
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 onion, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a 5-quart slow cooker
  2. combine peas
  3. water
  4. sausage
  5. bouillon
  6. carrot
  7. celery
  8. potatoes
  9. garlic powder
  10. oregano
  11. bay leaves
  12. and onion.
  13. Cover and cook on High for 4 to 5 hours. Remove bay leaves before ladling into bowls.

Cook Time: 5 hrs

Total Time: 5 hrs 20 mins

Servings: 8
