Slow Cooker Mild Curry Split Black Lentils

Description

Mild, creamy split black Indian lentils.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups water
  • 1 ½ cups split black lentils
  • ½ small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder, or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger root, chopped
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Combine water
  2. lentils
  3. onion
  4. garlic
  5. sugar
  6. salt
  7. curry powder
  8. turmeric
  9. and ginger root in slow cooker.
  10. Cook on High for 5 hours. Stir cream into lentils until warmed through.
