Sauteed Apples

Description

This is great for any meal, but is great for breakfast. The syrup from the apples is great on homemade waffles. You may add raisins to the sauce if you wish.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 4 large tart apples – peeled, cored and sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat; add apples and cook
  2. stirring constantly
  3. until almost tender
  4. 6 to 7 minutes.
  5. Mix water and cornstarch together in a small bowl until cornstarch is dissolved; pour over apples. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon. Bring to a boil for 2 minutes
  6. stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and serve warm.

Cook Time: 15 mins

Total Time: 20 mins
