Risk It On Brisket

Easy and delicious brisket recipe for Hanukkah or any occasion!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups ketchup
  • 1 cup ginger ale
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup red wine
  • 1 (3 pound) beef brisket (first cut, or lean flat portion)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. Mix together the ketchup
  3. ginger ale
  4. dry onion soup mix
  5. brown sugar
  6. and red wine in a bowl
  7. and stir until the brown sugar dissolves. Place the brisket into a disposable aluminum pan
  8. and pour sauce over the brisket. Seal the pan with a cover of aluminum foil.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven until the meat is very tender
  10. about 4 hours.
