Pumpkin and Sunflower Seed Bread

Description

Around Halloween, our babysitter would take the pumpkin seeds from the carved pumpkins, roast them a few minutes in the oven, and then make this bread. You can also use store brought seeds if you prefer.

Ingredients

  • 1 (.25 ounce) package instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 4 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • ¼ cup wheat bran (Optional)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup sunflower seeds
  • ⅓ cup shelled, toasted, chopped pumpkin seeds

Prep Time: 20 mins

Cook Time: 2 hrs

Total Time: 2 hrs 20 mins
