Onion Bhaji

Description

The perfect finger food or side dish for your favorite curry. You can use the batter recipe to make other bhaji variations with other vegetables instead of, or in conjunction with, onions! Serve hot with raita or chutney as a dip.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 medium onions, sliced into 1/4-inch thick rings
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground coriander
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground coriander
  • ½ teaspoon granulated garlic
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 pinch saffron
  • 2 teaspoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • vegetable oil for frying
