Description
This is the easiest chili recipe, and it is delicious and sure to please everyone. Using home canned tomatoes gives the best flavor, but is not necessary. Enjoy.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 2 onions, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 4 (14.5 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans with liquid
Instructions
- Combine ground beef
- onion
- and garlic in a large stockpot over medium heat. Cook and stir until beef is browned and crumbly
- about 10 minutes. Drain and discard excess grease.
- Stir tomatoes
- tomato sauce
- chili powder
- salt
- and oregano into beef mixture. Break up tomatoes while stirring and bring to a boil
- then reduce heat to simmer. Cover and cook
- stirring occasionally
- for 1 hour.
- Stir in beans with liquid from the can. Simmer uncovered
- stirring occasionally
- for 20 minutes.
