Mikey’s Beer Bread

Description

A delicious use of day-old beer that no one wants to drink! Please don’t go buy beer just to make this bread. It goes swimmingly with a bowl of warm soup.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup oats
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups day-old beer
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Whisk flour
  3. oats
  4. sugar
  5. baking powder
  6. and salt together in a bowl. Stir beer and butter into flour mixture using a wooden spoon until dough is well mixed; pour into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
  8. about 1 hour. Cool bread for 10 minutes before slicing.
