Michelle’s Honeybun Cake

Description

If you love honeybuns, then you’ll love this cake. It’s literally a giant honeybun.

Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 (8 ounce) carton sour cream
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan.
  2. Whisk together cake mix
  3. eggs
  4. sour cream
  5. vegetable oil
  6. and water in a large bowl until smooth. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Pour 1/2 of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle brown sugar mixture over batter. Pour remaining batter on top; gently swirl batter a few times with a table knife.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven until lightly golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean
  8. about 40 minutes.
  9. Make icing: Stir together confectioners’ sugar
  10. milk
  11. and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth and runny. Pour over hot cake; allow to cool before serving.
