Description
This is a great hot fudge sauce to use for almost any chocolate dessert. My mom gave me this recipe with a note that said, ‘Use this sauce over brownies and vanilla ice cream to make ‘Eskimo Pie Delight’. It was a favorite of mine from college.
Ingredients
- 4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup white sugar
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook on high for 1 to 2 minutes
- stirring frequently
- until mostly melted. Transfer chocolate to a heavy-bottomed saucepan over low heat. Stir in sugar
- butter
- and salt until combined.
- Stir in cream
- a little at a time
- until smooth. Heat through
- without boiling
- then remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Store sauce in the refrigerator.
