Halloumi Cheese Fingers

Description

Fry or grill this Cypriot-style cheese and serve with a Greek salad and crusty bread for a complete meal.

Ingredients

  • ½ tablespoon olive oil
  • 6 ounces halloumi cheese, cut into 1/2 inch thick sticks
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the halloumi sticks
  2. and cook until the cheese turns light
  3. golden-brown
  4. 1 to 2 minutes. Sprinkle with lemon juice
  5. oregano
  6. and pepper to serve.
