Grandma’s Secret Pie Crust

Description

The secret’s out! A great basic pie crust recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups shortening
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  2. In large bowl mix flour and salt. Cut in shortening with two butter knives.
  3. In a separate bowl
  4. mix together egg
  5. vinegar
  6. and water. Drizzle wet mixture into dry mixture
  7. cutting it in.
  8. Roll out dough
  9. and fit into two 9-inch pie pans.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes.
