Gluten-Free Fried Cheese Curds

Description

Crispy, crunchy gluten-free goodness! Serve with ranch or marinara for dipping. Yum!

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup milk, or more as needed
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup grapeseed oil
  • 12 white Cheddar cheese curds

Instructions

  1. Whisk milk
  2. egg
  3. flour
  4. baking powder
  5. basil
  6. salt
  7. and garlic powder together in a bowl until batter is the consistency of eggnog.
  8. Heat grapeseed oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  9. Coat cheese curds with batter; fry curds
  10. 4 to 5 at a time
  11. in hot oil until golden brown
  12. about 1 minute. Drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
