These garlic and Parmesan cheese dinner rolls are really great – crusty and cheesy on the outside, tender and garlicky inside, and visually gorgeous.
Ingredients
- 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon white sugar
- 1 cup warm water – 100 to 110 degrees F (40 to 45 degrees C)
- 1 teaspoon fine salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 egg
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tablespoons melted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more to taste
- 2 tablespoons freshly chopped Italian parsley
- olive oil for brushing
- ¼ cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
