Emma’s Clam Chowder

Description

This is a Manhattan type clam chowder. Using your garden fresh or frozen tomatoes gives it a special flavor.

Ingredients

  • 5 (6.5 ounce) cans minced clams, drained
  • 1 large potato, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch ground white pepper
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 large carrot, grated
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 2 cups water

Prep Time: 20 mins

Cook Time: 1 hr 50 mins

Total Time: 2 hrs 10 mins
