Easy Swedish Meatball Sauce

Description

A quick but very tasty sauce to add to already prepared frozen meatballs. This recipe makes a generous amount of sauce for a 1/2 package (20 oz) of meatballs. Serve over egg noodles or rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • ½ (20 ounce) package frozen cooked meatballs, thawed

Instructions

  1. Whisk together stock
  2. cream
  3. flour
  4. soy sauce
  5. 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  6. and 1/2 teaspoon rosemary in a large saucepan over low heat until smooth. Cook
  7. stirring occasionally
  8. until thickened
  9. about 10 minutes.
  10. Stir in thawed meatballs
  11. and continue cooking until meatballs are heated through
  12. about 5 more minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of the meatballs should read at least 160 degrees F (71 degrees C).
  13. Taste and adjust seasonings before serving.
