Drunken Ribs

Description

This recipe is one my favorites, it is one I found one day when I was experimenting. My family and friends enjoyed it and I hope you will too!

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 ½ tablespoons white pepper
  • 1 ½ tablespoons seasoned salt
  • 1 tablespoon onion salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4 pounds pork spareribs
  • ½ cup distilled white vinegar
  • 12 (12 fluid ounce) cans or bottles premium lager
  • 1 (20 ounce) bottle ketchup
  • 1 (10 fluid ounce) bottle Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ cups maple syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup liquid smoke flavoring
  • ½ cup margarine
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup honey mustard

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl
  2. mix garlic powder
  3. white pepper
  4. seasoned salt
  5. onion salt
  6. and oregano.
  7. Place ribs in a large roasting pan
  8. and rub evenly with the garlic powder mixture to coat. Pour distilled white vinegar and 1/2 the beer
  9. or enough to cover ribs
  10. into the pan. Cover pan
  11. and marinate ribs in the refrigerator 8 hours
  12. or overnight.
  13. Prepare an outdoor grill for indirect
  14. medium heat
  15. and lightly oil grate.
  16. In a large saucepan
  17. whisk together remaining beer
  18. ketchup
  19. Worcestershire sauce
  20. maple syrup
  21. brown sugar
  22. liquid smoke
  23. margarine
  24. apple cider vinegar
  25. and honey mustard. Bring to boil. Cover
  26. reduce heat
  27. and simmer 15 minutes
  28. or until a thick sauce has formed.
  29. Remove ribs from the marinade mixture
  30. and coat liberally with the sauce. Place on the prepared grill
  31. and cook 1 1/2 to 2 hours
  32. to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F (70 degrees C). Brush frequently with the sauce while cooking.

Cook Time: 2 hrs

Total Time: 10 hrs 30 mins
