Delicious Pumpkin Bread

Description

Got this recipe from my mom. It is a pretty good recipe, and can be made with canned or fresh pumpkin. One half cup raisins may be substituted for the nuts.

Ingredients

  • 3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups solid pack pumpkin puree
  • ⅔ cup water
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour three 7×3-inch loaf pans.
  2. Stir flour

  7. and cinnamon together in a large mixing bowl until well blended. Add mashed pumpkin
  8. oil
  9. water
  10. and eggs; beat with an electric mixer until well combined. Fold in walnuts. Divide batter evenly among the prepared pans.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of each loaf comes out clean
  12. about 1 hour.
  13. Remove from the oven and set pans on a wire rack. Let cool completely before slicing.
