Cucur Udang (Prawn Fritters)

Description

This is so yummy to have when you have friends over… Easily available ingredients for a simple appetizer in 15 minutes! Serve with sweet Thai chili sauce.

Ingredients

  • 10 shrimp – peeled, deveined, and chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 potato, diced
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup frozen corn
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine shrimp
  2. onion
  3. potato
  4. flour
  5. 1 cup water
  6. corn
  7. egg
  8. chicken bouillon
  9. salt
  10. baking powder
  11. and baking soda in a bowl. Mix in hot water until well combined. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  12. Meanwhile
  13. heat oil in a wok over medium- to medium-high heat. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil. Cook fritters in batches
  14. flipping halfway
  15. until browned on both sides
  16. 3 to 4 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
