Creamy Israeli-Style Hummus

Description

Creamy, smooth, and tasty hummus that uses a hint of peanut butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 ounce) can chickpeas
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sliced green onions, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 tablespoons chickpea liquid and 1 cup chickpeas in a bowl for hummus. Reserve remaining chickpeas and liquid for another use.
  2. Combine olive oil
  3. peanut butter
  4. lemon juice
  5. sesame oil
  6. cumin
  7. onion powder
  8. and salt in a blender. Blend until smooth
  9. about 2 minutes. Pour in chickpeas and liquid and blend until creamy
  10. 2 to 5 minutes.
  11. Transfer to an airtight container and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. Garnish with green onions to serve.
