Creamy Garlic Sauce

Description

This sauce is great on steak and chips. We have it a lot through the summer in Australia. Serve with a nice crisp salad makes a wonderful meal. Dried parsley may be used in place of the fresh.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup water, divided
  • 2 tablespoons chopped garlic
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Bring 1/4 cup water to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and garlic powder and boil until water has almost evaporated
  3. about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in cream and parsley and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Mix cornstarch and remaining 1/4 cup water together in a cup. Stir cornstarch mixture into sauce. Cook
  6. stirring constantly
  7. until thickened
  8. about 3 minutes.
