Crab Dip

Description

Hot crab dip served in a bread bowl. Perfect for parties!

Ingredients

  • 11 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 5 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans crabmeat, drained and flaked
  • ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (1 pound) loaf round, crusty Italian bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Combine crabmeat
  3. cream cheese
  4. mayonnaise
  5. onion
  6. garlic powder
  7. salt
  8. and pepper together in a medium bowl; spread mixture into a 1-quart baking dish.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Meanwhile
  10. cut a circle in the top of the bread; scoop out the inside to create a bread bowl. Tear the removed bread into pieces for dipping.
  11. Stir baked crab dip and spoon into bread bowl. Place bread bowl and chunks of bread on a medium baking sheet; bake for an additional 10 minutes. Serve hot.
