Description
Quick, easy and delicious shrimp that can be served over white rice or mofongo.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 10 cloves garlic, pressed
- 1 pound fresh large shrimp, shelled and deveined
- ½ cup tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (Optional)
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in the bell pepper and onion; cook and stir until the onion has softened and turned translucent
- about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic
- and cook until fragrant
- about 1 minute more. Add the shrimp and cook until opaque
- about 2 minutes on each side. Stir in the tomato sauce
- parsley
- and red pepper flakes
- and cook until tomato sauce is warmed through
- about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
