Cabbage Roll Casserole

Description

I use to make regular cabbage rolls until I found this recipe. Now, instead, I make this and it is as good as the regular cabbage rolls and alot easier.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 3 ½ pounds chopped cabbage
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans beef broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly
  3. 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease.
  4. Combine cabbage
  5. tomato sauce
  6. onion
  7. rice
  8. and salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir in cooked ground beef. Pour mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish
  9. then pour beef broth over top.
  10. Cover and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. Stir
  11. re-cover
  12. and bake until cabbage is tender and rice is done
  13. 20 to 30 minutes more.

Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Total Time: 1 hr 40 mins
