Butter Cake

Description

This cake is practical and can be for many uses. You can also add fruit in it if you wish.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup milk, room temperature

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking pan; line the bottom with parchment or wax paper
  2. or dust lightly with flour.
  3. Sift flour
  4. baking powder
  5. and salt together in a large bowl.
  6. Beat sugar and butter together in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time
  7. beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract.
  8. Add flour mixture in 1/2 cup batches
  9. alternating with milk
  10. beating batter briefly after each addition until just blended; pour batter into the prepared pan.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
  12. about 30 minutes. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
