Brown Sugar Pie I

Description

Brown sugar pie is a basic pie from Quebec, Canada. In French, it is Tarte au Sucre Brun. Delicious!!

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 ½ cups evaporated milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. In a saucepan
  3. combine flour and sugar. Stir in milk
  4. butter
  5. salt and vanilla. Cook
  6. stirring constantly
  7. until mixture comes to a boil. Pour into an unbaked pie shell.
  8. Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and continue baking for 25 minutes.
