Berdean’s Cube Steak

Description

My mom’s recipe. Make gravy from the remains by adding flour, milk, salt, and pepper.

Ingredients

  • 4 (4 ounce) cube steaks
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules

Instructions

  1. Season cube steaks on both sides with salt and pepper. Place flour in a shallow bowl; press steaks into the flour and shake off any excess.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steaks and cook until browned on both sides
  3. about 3 minutes per side.
  4. Pour enough water into the skillet to almost cover steaks. Stir in beef bouillon and salt; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low
  5. cover
  6. and simmer until very tender
  7. about 2 hours.

Prep Time: 5 mins

Cook Time: 2 hrs 10 mins

Total Time: 2 hrs 15 mins
