Description
These ground chicken Sloppy Joes are a healthier alternative to regular beef Sloppy Joes.
Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 2 pounds ground chicken
- ½ cup chopped onion
- ¼ cup chopped bell pepper
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- ½ cup barbeque sauce
- ½ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup water, or more as needed
- 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
- 8 (1.5 ounce) hamburger buns
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup dill pickle slices, or to taste
- ¼ cup sliced onion, or to taste
Instructions
- Spray a pan with cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Add chicken

- bell pepper
- salt
- and pepper. Cook and stir until chicken is no longer pink
- 5 to 7 minutes.
- Add barbeque sauce
- ketchup
- 1/4 cup water
- and mustard. Mix thoroughly and add more water if the mixture seems too thick. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Serve on hamburger buns topped with Cheddar cheese
- pickle slices
- and sliced onion.
