Barb’s Chocolate Cake

Description

This is a delicious cake, great for birthdays. I have always been asked for the recipe whenever I serve this cake. Enjoy!

Ingredients

• 2 eggs
• 1 cup white sugar
• 2 tablespoons butter, softened
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• ½ cup buttermilk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
• 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
• 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• 1 cup boiling water
• 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
• ½ cup butter, softened
• 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
• ⅔ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 tablespoons milk
• 1 tablespoon strong brewed coffee
