Barbecued Beef Liver

Description

Beef liver simmered in a sweet and tangy sauce will tempt the picky eaters in your family! Even our teenagers like this. Double the sauce ingredients if you wish to have extra to pour over noodles or rice.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound beef liver, thinly sliced
  • ⅓ cup water
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a resealable plastic bag
  2. mix flour
  3. salt
  4. and pepper. Place liver slices into the bag one at a time
  5. seal
  6. and toss to coat.
  7. In a bowl
  8. mix water
  9. ketchup
  10. brown sugar
  11. vinegar
  12. Worcestershire sauce
  13. and garlic powder.
  14. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown liver slices on both sides. Pour sauce mixture over the liver. Bring to a boil
  15. reduce heat
  16. and simmer
  17. 20 minutes
  18. until liver is tender.
