Description
This is an old family recipe, and it is very moist!
Ingredients
- ½ cup shortening
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup quick cooking oats
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 ½ cups mashed bananas
- ½ cup chopped raisins (Optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set aside.
- Cream together the shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until fluffy.
- Sift together the flour

- salt and cinnamon. Add dry ingredients alternately with bananas and milk. Mix until blended.
- Fold in raisins and pour into prepared pan. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes; remove from oven and cover for 5 minutes.
