I was only 14 when I made up this recipe. Since my first batch, it’s been everybody’s favorite. If you follow the directions and measurements exactly, I promise that this will be your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup butter, softened
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- ⅓ cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Sift together the flour
- baking powder
- baking soda
- and salt; set aside.
- In a medium bowl
- cream together the butter
- brown sugar
- and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Gradually stir in the sifted ingredients
- then stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
