Apple Oatmeal

Description

Simple, sweet, filling, and wholesome. A great way to use fresh apples and cider during the autumn.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup chopped fresh apple (with skin)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ΒΌ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add apple and brown sugar. Cook
  2. stirring occasionally
  3. for 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in oats
  5. apple cider
  6. milk
  7. cinnamon
  8. and salt and cook
  9. stirring frequently
  10. until oatmeal is creamy and thickened
  11. about 3 minutes.
