Amish Brown Sugar Cake

Description

A delicious and extremely simple Amish recipe for brown sugar cake. Perfect for dunking! If you need less servings, dough keeps frozen for up to 6 months.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar, or as needed (Optional)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon, or as needed (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease three 7- or 8-inch pie pans. 1
  2. Mix flour
  3. brown sugar
  4. baking powder
  5. baking soda
  6. and salt together in a bowl. Mix in oil
  7. followed by milk. Spread evenly into the prepared pans. Sprinkle white sugar and cinnamon over each.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of each cake comes out clean
  9. about 35 minutes.
