Spaghetti with Clam Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 pint heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups jarred baby clams with juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ anchovy fillets
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • salt to taste
  • ¼ cup crushed croutons, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil, or to taste
