Steak, Onion, and Pepper Fajitas

Description

These yummy fajitas have an unexpected flavor you’ll be sure to love! Serve with tortillas and your favorite fajita toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds beef round steak
  • ¼ cup tequila
  • ½ cup fresh lime juice
  • ½ cup cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ cup sliced onion
  • ¾ cup bell peppers, sliced into thin strips

Instructions

  1. Combine steak
  2. lime juice
  3. and tequila in a plastic bag; marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  4. When ready to cook
  5. preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil grate.
  6. Remove steak from marinade and shake off excess. Discard remaining marinade.
  7. Grill steak on the preheated grill until no longer pink on the inside
  8. about 8 minutes per side. Remove from the grill and slice into 1/4-inch strips. Arrange strips on a serving plate.
  9. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add liquid smoke
  10. Worcestershire sauce
  11. paprika
  12. salt
  13. and pepper; stir to combine. When the mixture is hot
  14. add bell peppers and onions; cook until peppers are tender.
  15. Pour pepper and onion mixture over steak strips and serve immediately.
