Magic Cookie Bars from EAGLE BRAND®

Description

This bar cookie is an old fashioned favorite. Chocolate chips, nuts and coconut are set in a caramelized layer on top of a graham cracker crust.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 ⅓ cups flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). If using a glass dish
  2. preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. Combine graham cracker crumbs and butter in a bowl. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and press onto the bottom. Pour sweetened condensed milk on top. Sprinkle with an even layer of chocolate chips
  4. coconut
  5. and nuts. Press toppings down firmly with the back of a fork.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned
  7. about 25 minutes. Cool completely
  8. then cut into 36 bars or diamonds. Store bars covered at room temperature.
