Sarah’s Rice Pilaf

Description

This is a delicious twist to traditional rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup orzo pasta
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup uncooked white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add orzo; cook and stir until orzo is golden brown.
  2. Stir in onion and cook until onion becomes translucent. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in rice and chicken broth
  3. turn heat to high
  4. and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low
  6. cover the skillet
  7. and simmer until rice is tender and liquid has been absorbed
  8. 20 to 25 minutes.
  9. Remove from the heat and let stand
  10. covered
  11. for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Cook Time: 35 mins

Total Time: 50 mins
