Description
Shrimp Mozambique is zesty shrimp in a saffron and garlic-based sauce. Great served over rice.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- ¼ cup finely chopped onion
- ½ cup water
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 8 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 (1.41 ounce) packages sazon seasoning with saffron (such as Goya® Azafran)
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- ½ (12 ounce) bottle beer
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce (such as Tabasco®), or to taste
- 1 pound uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
Instructions
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and saute until slightly golden
- about 5 minutes. Stir in water
- lemon juice
- garlic
- sazon
- salt
- and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes. Pour in beer and stir. Add hot sauce; bring to a boil. Add shrimp and cook until pink
- about 3 minutes.
