Garlic Teriyaki Edamame

Description

One of my favorite sushi restaurants had this yummy edamame dish, so I tried to duplicate it at home. I think I came pretty close.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen edamame in the pod
  • ¼ cup teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Bring the water and garlic to a boil in a saucepan over high heat. Stir in the edamame
  2. and cook until the edamame are hot
  3. and the liquid has nearly evaporated
  4. about 5 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium-high and stir in the teriyaki sauce
  5. brown sugar
  6. vinegar
  7. and sesame oil. Stir constantly until the sauce has thickened and coats the edamame
  8. about 4 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds to serve.
