Country Style Fried Potatoes

Description

These fried potatoes are the perfect companion for bacon and eggs. You may use oil instead of shortening if you wish.

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup shortening
  • 6 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. In a large cast iron skillet
  2. heat shortening over medium-high heat. Add potatoes and cook
  3. stirring occasionally
  4. until potatoes are golden brown. Season with salt
  5. pepper
  6. garlic powder and paprika. Serve hot.
