Rice Patties

Description

This is a great way to use leftover rice and any leftover meat, too!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • ½ small onion, chopped
  • ¼ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (Optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper, or more to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon chopped fresh parsley, or to taste (Optional)
  • 1 pinch onion powder, or to taste (Optional)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, or more to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix rice
  2. onion
  3. Cheddar cheese
  4. egg
  5. garlic
  6. salt
  7. red pepper flakes
  8. black pepper
  9. parsley
  10. and onion powder by hand in a bowl.
  11. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 30 minutes.
  12. From rice mixture into 4 small patties.
  13. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry patties in hot oil until lightly browned
  14. about 5 minutes per side.

Cook Time: 10 mins

Total Time: 50 mins
