Cheesy Hamburger Stew with Rice

Description

On busy nights this hamburger stew is easy and filling! It’s great over noodles too!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • ½ large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 ½ cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked brown rice, warmed

Instructions

  1. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir hamburger

  3. and onion in the hot skillet until meat is browned and vegetables are soft
  4. 5 to 7 minutes. Add garlic; cook until fragrant
  5. about 30 seconds. Drain and discard grease.
  6. Add condensed soup
  7. vegetables
  8. Cheddar cheese
  9. water
  10. Worcestershire sauce
  11. soy sauce
  12. garlic salt
  13. chili powder
  14. salt
  15. and pepper. Cook
  16. stirring occasionally
  17. until vegetables are hot and cheese is melted
  18. 10 to 15 minutes.
  19. Serve stew over warm brown rice.
